Nick & Elena

Old Town Farm | Albuquerque, New Mexico | October

There's a kind of couple that makes you remember why you do this work.

Nick and Elena are that couple.

They found us on Instagram — just scrolling, fell in love with the style, reached out. And from the very first message, you could feel it. We have such an easy going love that just flows together so naturally. That's not a line. That's just who they are.

Seven years before they ever said "I do." Seven years of building something real before they made it official. By the time October came around, this wasn't nerves — it was just the next true thing.

Before the ceremony, before the guests arrived, before any of it — Nick and Elena slipped away with their two closest people and exchanged their vows privately.

Just the four of them.

We were there. And we will not forget it.

There are moments in this job that catch you completely off guard, and this was one of them. The words they said to each other — quiet, unhurried, completely theirs — had everyone in tears. Including us, behind our cameras. It was the most intimate thing we've been asked to witness, and the fact that they wanted us there for it still means something to us.

That's the thing about private vows. They're not a trend or a detail. When they're real, you can feel the entire weight of a relationship in the room.

“The day was coordinated, unhurried and completely free, AND you could feel that freedom in every room”

Old Town Farm sits in the middle of Albuquerque in a way that makes you forget you're in the middle of Albuquerque. Tucked away, quiet, the kind of spot locals know from bike rides and coffee on weekend mornings. In October, the flowers were still in full bloom — color everywhere — and the weather showed up like it had been planning this for months.

The ceremony was everything a ceremony should be. And when it ended, bubbles filled the air.

A bubble gun exit is genuinely one of the most joyful things to photograph. No one can keep a straight face. No one tries to.

The reception moved into a barn strung with string lights, and from there the night just took on a life of its own. Tacos. A bounce house. A photobooth. Music. The kind of reception where you look around and realize everyone is actually having a great time — not just going through the motions of a wedding, but genuinely, fully present in the night.

Nick and Elena had planned the whole day carefully, and then let it go. That's a skill not everyone has. The day was coordinated, unhurried, and completely free — and you could feel that freedom in every room.

Nick and Elena — getting to start your marriage with us is something we don't take lightly. The private vows, the bubbles, the dancing, all of it. Thank you for trusting us with your day.

Are you planning a wedding in New Mexico — or anywhere else? We'd love to hear about it. Reach out here and let's talk.
